Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions. View all FAQs

What is MCWorldTools?

MCWorldTools is a set of browser-based tools for Minecraft Java Edition. You can edit level.dat files, tweak player data, create skins, look up crafting recipes, generate commands, design signs, and more — all without installing anything.

Can I edit Minecraft player data online?

Absolutely. You can edit inventories, Ender Chest contents, XP, health, hunger, position, and game mode right in your browser. Singleplayer data lives inside level.dat, while server player data is in separate UUID .dat files — MCWorldTools handles both.

How do I edit level.dat safely?

Just upload your level.dat, make your changes with the visual editor, and download the modified file. The main thing to watch out for is making sure Minecraft is completely closed before you swap the file back in, otherwise the game will overwrite your edits.

Is MCWorldTools safe to use?

Yes — everything runs locally in your browser. Your files never get uploaded to a server. You can check for yourself in the network tab if you want to verify. We never see or store your world data.

Does MCWorldTools work with the latest Minecraft versions?

Yes — we have full game data for 25 Minecraft Java versions from 1.19 through 1.21.11, plus the latest 26.1 snapshot. Each version has its own validated item, block, entity, enchantment, and recipe data so IDs and names are always accurate to the version you are playing on. The file editors (level.dat, player data) work with any Minecraft version.

Does MCWorldTools support mods?

Yes — we currently support Mekanism, Farmer's Delight, and Industrial Foregoing with more mods coming soon. You can browse modded item IDs, recipes, and data with the same tools you use for vanilla.

Can I use MCWorldTools for Minecraft servers?

Yes, it works great for servers. You can edit player data from playerdata/UUID.dat files and world settings from level.dat. Just make sure to stop the server before replacing any files so nothing gets overwritten.
