Frequently Asked Questions
How do I generate a /give command for any item in Minecraft?
Select Give in the command list, pick the item from the version-aware dropdown, set quantity and optional NBT tags (name, lore, enchantments, etc.), then copy the command. The generator handles the 1.20.5+ component syntax and the legacy NBT format for older versions automatically.
How do I use /summon to spawn a custom mob?
Pick Summon, select an entity type, set coordinates, and add NBT tags for custom name, health, equipment, attributes, etc. For deeper custom-mob designs (equipment, passengers, baby mobs, nametag styling) use the dedicated Mob Builder — it gives you a 3D preview of the final entity.
Which Minecraft versions does the command generator support?
All Java Edition versions from 1.17 through 1.21.11, plus the latest 26.1 snapshot — 30 versions total. Item IDs, entity IDs, enchantment IDs, effect IDs, and command syntax adjust automatically for the version you pick in the top-right selector.
Can I use modded items in the command generator?
Yes — the version selector also lets you add mod support. When a mod is selected its items, entities, and recipes join the vanilla dropdowns. You can also type custom IDs directly if the mod isn't in the registry yet.
Does the /effect command work with all status effects?
Yes. Pick Effect Give, choose an effect, then set duration and amplifier. All vanilla effects are available and the list updates per version (e.g. Raid Omen is only listed for 1.21+ where it was added). Amplifier is 0-indexed: amplifier 0 is level I, amplifier 1 is level II, and so on.
