Frequently Asked Questions

How do I make a custom Minecraft banner with a /give command?

Pick a base color in the Base tab, add pattern layers in the Patterns tab, then copy the /give command from the Output panel. Paste it into chat or a command block in Minecraft and the banner appears in your inventory, already decorated.

How many pattern layers can a banner have?

In survival mode Minecraft limits banners to 6 pattern layers. In creative mode or via the /give command you can stack up to 16 layers. The editor shows a warning once you exceed the survival limit so you know whether you need creative mode to place it.

What is the difference between the 1.20.5+ modern and legacy command formats?

Minecraft 1.20.5 changed how item components are written in commands. The editor auto-detects the version you picked and generates modern component syntax ({banner_patterns:[...]}) for 1.20.5+, or the older NBT tag format (BlockEntityTag) for 1.20.4 and earlier. The Share Link carries the design, not the version, so it works either way.

Can I save banner designs to reuse them later?

Yes — sign in, then click the Save button in the Output panel to store the design to your MCWorldTools account. You can also click Share Link to copy a URL that encodes the design in the hash, or Export JSON to download a local file.

Does the banner editor include loom crafting steps?

Yes. Expand Crafting Steps in the Output panel to see a step-by-step breakdown of which dyes and pattern items you need, in the order to apply them at a loom. Great for survival builds where you need to gather materials first.
