How to Use the Armor Editor
Build complete Minecraft armor sets with trims, enchantments, leather dye colors, and custom names. Generate /give commands for individual pieces or full sets.
Quick Steps
- 1Choose a material (leather, iron, diamond, netherite, etc.) and switch between single-piece or full-set mode
- 2Add armor trims by selecting a pattern and material — available in version 1.19.4 and above
- 3For leather armor, pick a custom dye color from presets or enter a hex value
- 4Add enchantments with conflict detection and level controls, or apply a preset
- 5Set a custom name and lore, then copy the /give command from the Output tab
Example Use Cases
- Create maxed-out armor sets for adventure maps or server kits
- Preview armor trim combinations and generate the exact commands to apply them
- Build colored leather armor for team uniforms or custom map cosmetics
Tips
In set mode, material, trims, dye, and name apply to all four pieces at once
Enchantments are per-piece — use the piece selector to switch between helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I make custom armor with a /give command?
Pick a material (leather, iron, diamond, netherite, chainmail, golden), add a trim if you want one, apply enchantments per piece, then copy the /give command. Set mode applies one design to all four pieces in a single command; Single mode targets individual slots.
Can I dye leather armor to any color?
Yes. Switch a piece's material to leather, then pick a preset colour or type an exact hex code. Each piece can have a different colour. The editor generates the right /give command format for your version (components in 1.20.5+, legacy dye NBT for earlier).
How do armor trims work?
Armor trims were added in 1.19.4. Pick a trim pattern (coast, dune, sentry, ward, silence, etc.) and a material (iron, gold, diamond, netherite, etc.) in the Trim tab. The /give command includes the trim spec so the armor renders with that trim in-game.
Can I put any enchantment on any armor piece?
By default, the editor only offers compatible enchantments per piece (Protection on any armor, Aqua Affinity only on helmets, Depth Strider only on boots, etc.). Use the Custom Enchantment option to force any enchantment and level, but illegal combos may not function as expected in vanilla.
Does the armor editor support netherite and ancient items?
Yes — netherite is in the material list. Netherite armor keeps its trim material correctly and the /give command produces the proper item. Ancient debris / raw netherite itself is a different item type and lives in the ID List tool.
