How to Use the Pyramid Generator

Plan a square pyramid from a base width — each layer insets by one block per side to the apex — with the block count and a 3D preview.

Quick Steps

  1. 1Set the base width
  2. 2Choose solid or hollow walls
  3. 3Read it off layer by layer from the base up
  4. 4Rotate the 3D view to check the shape

Example Use Cases

  • Egyptian-style pyramids and monuments
  • Stepped rooftops
  • Landmark builds and spawns

Tips

An odd base tapers to a single block; an even base to a 2x2 top
Use hollow to build just the walls and save blocks
Building a beacon? Use the beacon calculator instead — those pyramids are truncated

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you build a pyramid in Minecraft?

Start with a square base and step inward by one block on every side for each layer up, until you reach the top. This generator does that maths from a base width — it shows every layer, the block count, and a 3D preview of the finished pyramid.

How big is the base compared to the height?

A square pyramid rises by one layer for every two blocks of base width, so a 21-wide base is about 11 layers tall. An odd base narrows to a single block at the very top; an even base finishes as a 2x2 top.

How is this different from a beacon pyramid?

A beacon pyramid is truncated — it stops at a 3x3 platform with the beacon on top and is only up to four layers. This builds a full pyramid that tapers all the way to a point, at any base size. For beacon builds specifically, use the beacon calculator.

How many blocks does a pyramid need?

A solid pyramid is the sum of the square layers (base squared, then the next smaller square, and so on). A hollow pyramid keeps only the stepped outer walls. The generator shows the exact total for either.
